There is darkness
That surrounds me
It blocks the Light
As I focus on only
What it allows me to see
There is fear
In the darkness
In not being able to see;
What is to come
In the knowledge;
That I will stumble
There is a fear of pain
A fear of… what may be lost
A fear I may miss something beautiful
In the darkness
Pass it by; unseen
Because my sight is clouded
My soul is heavy ladened
My mind is burdened
My life feels… dark
As I grapple with the hopelessness
I remember
“Only in the dark
Can you see the stars”
And there is Light
